Programmirung
A fine-grained parallel algorithm is proposed, which is intended for simulation spatial dynamics in active media. The algorithm combines into a single iterative procedure Boolean operations of Cellular Automaton Diffusion with Cellular-Neural simulation of nonlinear reaction of active medium. Methods for transforming a continuous spatial function into its boolean equivalent (Boolean discretization), and the inverse methods to transform a Boolean space into a function in real numbers (averaging) are elaborated to be used on each iteration. Such a "hybrid" (discrete + continuous) algorithm is absolutely stable relative to round off errors and allows natural parallelization. Examples are given to show simulation of nonlinear waves in ecological system.
