The aim of the workshop is to give people who already have some programming experience an introduction into the basics of parallel programming. The focus is on the programming models MPI and OpenMP, domain decomposition, load balancing and parallel numerics. Language support is given for Fortran and C. Practical sessions will allow users to understand what the basic constructs of MPI and OpenMP are meant to do. This workshop follows on the success of the previous workshop RGW-2004, that was held in Novosibirsk in 2004.
