	STEPS OF THE REFORM The list of organizations subordinated to the Federal Agency of Russian scientific organizations has been approved by Order of the RF Government of December 30, 2013.
	ITER YEAR IN RUSSIA A working meeting devoted to participation of Russian companies in the International ITER project and other projects in the field of controlled thermonuclear fusion has been held at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of SB RAS on January 14-15.

	“GAZPROM” AWARD – TO OMSK CHEMISTS Employees of the Institute of Hydrocarbons Processing of SB RAS have won the prestigious professional Gazprom Award in the field of science and technology in 2013.
	IMPORTANCE OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE An extended meeting of the Council attached to the Governor of Novosibirsk region on social sciences and humanities, which examined the mechanisms for popularization of science and new forms of outreach and awareness-raising work has taken place in late December.

	GRANT OF RUSSIAN PRESIDENT – TO THE TPU SCIENTISTS The scientific staff of the Institute of Natural Resources of TPU led by Professor E. Ivanchina has won the prestigious grant from the President of Russian Federation for state support of leading scientific schools.
	THE FIFTH TSU MEGA-GRANT The Tomsk State University has won a competition for the grants of the Russian Government to support scientific research conducted under the supervision of leading scientists at Russian institutions of higher education and scientific institutions of the state academies of sciences and public research centers (mega-grant competition).
	RUSSIAN-AMERICAN CANCER IDENTIFICATION PROJECT The Memorandum on establishment of Russian-American Anti-Cancer Centre in Barnaul has been signed in June 2013.
	AGREEMENT HAS BEEN SIGNED For Yakut Scientific Center the last days of the expired 2013 have been marked by signing of a landmark Agreement with the Yakut Branch of Baikal State University of Economics and Law.
