	YOUTH CONFERENCE DEVOTED TO THE DAY OF RUSSIAN SCIENCE The VI Conference of Young Scientists devoted to the Day of Russian Science has taken place at the Institute of Human Ecology of the SB RAS on February 11.
	DIOXINS ARE A SERIOUS THREAT TO BAIKAL On February 17, at the Press Conference of the Irkutsk House of Journalists, Academician M.I.Kuzmin has announced the results of test analysis for the bottom materials from the Lake Baikal in the impact zone of Baikal Cellulose Paper Plant, received by the Institute of Geochemistry of the SB RAS. The data show, that consequences of injection of the polluted waste waters of Baikal Cellulose Paper Plant will affect the condition of Lake still for many years, even after the Plant is eventually closed.
