	INNOVATIONS - TO CITIES OF SIBERIA The VI Innovative Investment Forum, taking place under the motto «Innovations - to cities of Siberia» has begun its work in Novosibirsk on October 19.
	THE SB RAS AND «ROSATOM»: ON THE WAY TO JOINT INSTITUTE A Meeting of the SB RAS administrative management with the representatives of «Rosatom» State Corporation has taken place at the Exhibition Center of the SB RAS. Setting up the Institute of Power Electronics and Electrical Engineering has been approved as a reasonable decision.
	RUSNANO IN OMSK The Delegation of the State Corporation «Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies» (RUSNANO) headed by General Director Anatoly Borisovich Chubais has visited the Institute of Hydrocarbons Processing of the SB RAS on October 8, within the framework of a working visit to Omsk.
	«THEY HAVE CHANGED OUR VIEW OF BIDIMENTIONAL SYSTEMS» The 2010 Nobel Prize winners in Physics - Andrey Geim and Konstantin Novosyolov from the University of Manchester have been announced in Stockholm on October 5.
	TRANSBOUNDARY PROBLEMS: THE SPECIAL PROGRAM IS NECESSARY Two conferences devoted to the problems of cooperation of frontier territories of Russia, Mongolia and China have been opened in Chita on October 20. The Institute of Natural Resources, Ecology and Cryology of the SB RAS participates in the organization and work of both events.
	RADIO SOUNDING SPACE TECHNOLOGIES The Russian Scientific Conference «Radar Sounding of Terrestrial Covers with the Synthesized Aperture» has been held in Buryatiya, Lake Baikal from September 6 through September 10.
	MOLECULAR CRYSTALS IN THE UNEXPECTED ASPECT The Russian Seminar «Hot Topics of Solid State Chemistry: Chemistry of Molecular Crystals and Disordered Phases» has taken place at the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the SB RAS in the beginning of October.
	OMSK HUMANISTS IN KAZAN On October 6-8 a big group of Omsk scientists - archeologists, ethnographers, historians and culturologists has become a participant and organizer of simultaneously three scientific events.
	SOILS - KEEPERS OF THE HISTORY OF BIOSPHERE The I-st International Scientific Youth School «Paleosoils - Keepers of the Information on the Natural Environment of the Past» has been held on August 3-7 in the Priob’ye, 100 km far from Barnaul and 250 km far from Novosibirsk.
	SEMINAR FOR YOUNG GEOLOGISTS OF SIBERIA On the basis of the Museum of Coal of the Institute of Coal of the SB RAS the training seminar «Field Description of Drill Hole Cores» for the young geological staff from Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Kemerovo has taken place.
