	EXPANDING THE SPHERES OF FORCE APPLICATION From May, 27 to May, 30 an International conference "Fundamental bases of mechanochemical technologies" took place at the House of scientists of the SB RAS.
	TO REMOVE A MENACE FROM SCIENCE The members of the Central Council of the RAS workers trade union have gathered for the session May, 27, next day after the General Meeting of the RAS. Such choice of the day is not random: it was necessary to be convinced once again that the problems brought up by the trade union, are duly and actual for all the Academy.
	NEW COMPETITION OF JOINT PROJECTS: THE SB RAS - TAIWAN At the end of April a visit to Taiwan of the delegation of the Siberian Branch composed of Vice-president of the SB RAS Academician V.M.Fomin and Executive director of the International Center of Aerophysical Research Doctor Sc. (Engineering) V.A.Lebiga has taken place. The purpose of trip was to participate in the working meeting with the leaders of the National Scientific Council of Taiwan for the preparation of a new competition of joint research projects.

	THE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATOR’S SEMINAR April, 22 Academician Lev Vasilievich Ovsiannikov has celebrated his 90th Anniversary and simultaneously the 60th anniversary of the publication of his first paper devoted to the research of transonic gas flows, as well as the 50th anniversary of his life and activity in the Siberian Branch.
	ETERNAL VALUES IN THE CHANGING WORLD The Institute of Mongolology, Buddhology and Tibetology of the SB RAS is one of the basic centers of oriental studies in the Russian Federation and unique establishment in the east of Russia carrying out basic research in these fields.
	"GOLD MERCURY" The "SIMEX" research-and-production company has become the "Gold Mercury" regional competition winner of 2009 in the nomination "The best small- scale enterprise in the field of innovation activities".

	SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INNOVATION PROJECTS May, 25 the third annual ceremony of delivery of the Andrei Kozlov scholarships was held at the Novosibirsk State University. There were the students who suggested non-standard approaches and new elaborations in the bank field, among the scholarship-aided students.
	THE UNIFIED AND UNIQUE. REFLECTIONS CONCERNING THE UNIFIED STATE EXAMINATION There will hardly be a sane person who will insist on the preservation of school education in the manner of the 70 - 80ths of the last century. School reforms are necessary and inevitable, as, unfortunately, mistakes in the process of their realization too.
