	UNDER THE BADGE OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT From August, 25 to August 28 passed two important International scientific events were simultaneously held at the coast of ancient Baikal. The first was the Session of the Bureau of the Association of Academies of Asian countries. 	GLOBAL ENERGY OF ACADEMICIAN NAKORIAKOV On the ninth of June in Saint Petersburg, the President of Russia V.Putin has handed the «Global Energy» Prize to the winners of the Competition of 2007: Academician V.E.Nakoriakovu (the Institute of Thermophysics of the SB RAS) and the Professors Jaffray Huet (Great Britain) and Thornstein Zigfusson (Iceland).

	THE BIRDS WALKING ON STILTS Feathery inhabitants of the Zoo from a list of typical dwellers of the lake steppe that reaches in the southwest of the Novosibirsk Region up to horizon are very interesting. These are sandpipers with very long legs and a resemblance of swimming membranes between fingers.
