	RECOGNITION OF MERITS This year in connection with celebrations of the 55th anniversary of Chinese People's Republic about 80 foreign citizens have been awarded by the Chinese government, four among them are Russians. "The Order of Friendship of CPR" was handed to Siberians, Corresponding Members of the RAS of V.Fomin and V.Parhomchuk, as well as to Director of the Sarov Nuclear Center Academician V.Michailov, and to the artist of Vladivostok V.Ganiev.
	ALL THIS IS DALIAN At the Chinese city of Dalian, in the Chinese-Russian Center of High Technologies opened in August, 2004, the researchers of the Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry of the SB RAS together with Chinese colleagues during a month worked through the technology suggested by Siberians.
	THE STATE PRIZE OF MONGOLIA Before New Year, Chief scientific researcher of the Institute of Earth's Crust Doctor Sc. (Gеlogy and Mineralogy) Professor Boris Pisarski has received pleasant news from Mongolia. "The map of mineral waters of Mongolia", developed by him together with Mongolian colleagues, is recognized as the best scientific work issued according to the competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia in 2004. For it the State Prize at the rate of 250000 tugriks is awarded.

	OMAKTAT ANNGANIT! “Omaktat annganit!” means “Happy New Year!” in Evenk. In such a manner the expert of the Evenk language Boris Boldyrev, Head of the Sector of Tungus- and Manchurology of the UIIPP of the SB RAS, congratulates his friends. On the finish of this year, December, 16, he on set of works has defended his doctoral thesis "Parts of speech and grammatical categories of the Evenk language in the comparative elucidation".
	GEOCRYOLOGISTS HAVE RESCUED THE AIRPORT In May International conference "Cryosphere of oil-and-gas bearing provinces" was held in Tyumen. Foreign scientists of eleven countries participated in this largest conference and among them, naturally, the representatives of "Gazprom", including the experts of the Dpartment of Strategic Research.
	MATERIALS OF SCIENTIFIC AND HISTORICAL CONFERENCE The Novosibirsk Publishing House have issued a collection of the materials of the Regional scientific and historical conference "Russian-Japanese war of 1904- 1905 and geopolitical problems of modern Russia".

	NEW LIFE OF OLD BOOKS On the eve of New year the "Springer-Verlag" publishing house has finished the working at the English translation of classical book by Academician A.D.Aleksandrov "Convex polyhedra".
	"SIBERIA AS A COLONY" The book by outstanding Siberian publicist and public figure Nikolai Michailovicha Yadrintsev "Siberia as a colony" (1892) was ill-suited under any political regime. Nowadays the book by Yadrintsev comes back to the shelves of libraries.
