	MEETING OF THE PRESIDENTIAL COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE AND EDUCATION October, 26 a meeting of the Council for science, technologies and education has been held under the chairmanship of Russian President V.Putin. This is the first meeting of the Council in a renewed format. In August, 2004 the RF President has signed a decree that included the problems of education into the scope of the Council.

	THE MAIN THING IS THE INTEREST TO REMAIN INTACT October, 29 to academician V.Reverdatto, chife scientific researcher of the Institute of mineralogy and petrography of the UIGGM, one of the leading experts of our country in the field of petrology and geochemistry, has been 70 years old.

	BOWELS OF THE EARTH BEING THE SOURCE OF RUSSIAN WEALTH. MINING SCIENCE IS A KEY TO THEM The Institute of Mining of the SB RAS is the first-born of Academic science in Siberia, the leading scientific institution in the mining field beyond Ural celebrates its 60th anniversary in the beginning of November, 2004.
	THE SB RAS PRESIDIUM MEETING
	SIBERIAN SCIENTISTS DISCUSSING THE PROBLEMS OF THE STEM CELL RESEARCH AND APPLICATION October, 18 a working meeting on the stem cells took place at the Small Hall of the House of scientists of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok which has developed into mini-conference. This topic as a magnet draws attention of medical workers and of researchers, as well as of people far from medicine too.
