	RUSSIAN TECHNOLOGIES IN THE LIAONIN PROVINCE From September 8 to September 12 the exhibition of scientific and technical achievements was held in Shenian, the capital of the northeast province Liaonin of Chinese People`s Republic. At the invitation of Government of the province four Russian regions have displayed collective stands.
	SIBERIA - LIAONIN: STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP At the scientific and technical exhibition in Shenian 36 organizations of the SB RAS have signed 105 agreements.
	RUSSIA - CHINA: PROBLEMS OF THE EAST REGIONS September 24 the Russian and Chinese conference "Regional development and cooperation between east regions of Russia and northeast regions of China" has been opened.
	THE BAIKAL ECONOMIC FORUM BECOMES A SYMBOL OF THE REGION Irkutsk has met the visitors of the second Baikal Economic Forum with the first snowfall and cold wind as if specially showing the gravity of Siberian climate. But the warm atmosphere of meetings compensated the whims of weather.
	MEMORANDUM SIGNED During the International conference "Energy cooperation in North-East Asia: prerequisites, conditions, trends" held within the framework of the Second Baikal Forum, the memorandum of mutual understanding has been signed.

	SIBERIAN INDUSTRY OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS The first regional forum "Siberian industry of information systems" will take place in Novosibirsk. The opening will be held on October 21 in the House of Scientists of the SB RAS.
	THE CHATTERTON PRIZE IS AGAIN IN TOMSK Sergein Popov, junior scientific researcher of the Institute of High Current Electronics SB RAS has been awarded with the Chatterton Prize at the International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Isolation in Vacuum held in the French city Tour, for the studies on the nature of dense plasma clusters around the drops in vacuum arcing.
	MECHANISMS OF CATALYTIC REACTIONS From October 1 to October 5 the 6th Russian conference "Mechanisms of catalytic reactions" will be held in Moscow.
	"HIGHWAYS AND POT-HOLES" "Highways and potholes: from mathematical researches to the market of computing technologies"; it`s free session of the participants of the International conference on calculus mathematics ICCM-2002 and invited experts who is engaged in so-called commercial soft.
	ILL-DEFINED AND INVERSE PROBLEMS During the first ten-day period of August the International Conference "Ill- defined and Inverse Problems" devoted to the 70th anniversary of Academician М.М.Lavrentiev was held at Academgorodok.
	ICOM-2002 Large-scale International Congress ICOM (International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes) was organized for the first time in Italy in 1984, and then was held regularly every 3 years. Siberian representative of Innovation Company "МЕТА" Aleksandr Korovin first took part in its work. Today he shares his impressions with our readers.

Authority of this organization is testified by the fact that the All-Russian conference of the Women`s Council chairmen was held on its base.
