	THE GOVERNMENT TO CONSIDER THE STRATEGY OF DEVELOPMENT OF SIBERIA IN TWO WEEKS, Presidential Plenipotentiary has informed.
	HARD WAY OF "THE STRATEGY OF DEVELOPMENT OF SIBERIA" According to the materials of Russian press from January to February 2002.
	RUSSIAN OIL AND GAS BRANCH: IT`S TIME TO EXERCISE THE STATE`S AUTHORITY! February 14 Doctor Sc. (Economics) Valeri Kriukov, head of the Department for Economic Problems of the East Siberian Oil-and gas Complex Development of the Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering has spoken with scientific report "Evolutionary approach to formation of the system of government regulation of the economy oil-and-gas branch" at the SB RAS Presidium meeting.
	RUSSIAN AND BYELORUSSIAN OIL-AND-GAS PROJECT At the end of December 1998, association agreement between creative collectives of the SB RAS and of the Byelorussian National Academy of Sciences (NASB) countersigned by academicians N.Dobretsov and A.Voitovich has been officially concluded. A concrete program was soon arranged and the international project has been opportunely supported by financial grants from the fundamental researches foundations of the both parties. Cooperation developed including in the field of oil.
	SIBERIA-UDMURTIYA: ESTABLISHING CONTACTS Three days, from February 4 to February 6, exposition of completed developments of the Siberian Branch worked in Izhevsk.
	"SPACE WEATHER" CENTER AT IRKUTSK At the meeting of the Irkutsk and Chinese scientists held in the Institute of Solar and Terrestrial Physics an official opening of the Russian and Chinese United Scientific Center for "space weather" took place.
	TO REVEAL THE MOST PERSPECTIVE PROJECTS At the Administrative Committee meeting attached to Governor Boris Govorin a question was discussed on the efficiency of the scientific potential use in realization of the programs of development of the Irkutsk Region.
	SCIENTIFIC SESSION AT THE INSTITUTE OF GEOGRAPHY There is a tradition in scientific environment to discuss broadly the last year results at general meetings. At different Institutes they are differently referred to as conferences, session, readings, but the essence is identical: to estimate all made and to plan pathways of further movement forward. The most interesting and important results enter the reports of the SB RAS and the RAS.
	MEETING OF SIBERIAN PHYSICIANS From February 27 to February 28 a meeting of the Council on health protection of the Siberian Federal District, the SB RAMS Presidium and the Association "Public Health Services of Siberia" has been held in Улан-Удэ. Representatives of 19 subjects of the Siberian Federal District, including Academician Valeri Trufakin, the Ministry of Health representative in the SFD, Chairman of SB RAMS Presidium have taken part in the meeting.
	POLITICAL SCIENCE IS A TOPICAL ONE The Tomsk State University has become one of the first higher educational institutions of Russia, where the specialization in the field of political science has been opened at the philosophical faculty already ten years ago.
	PROTECTIONS AT THE INP The G.I.Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of the SB RAS continues "to forge" highly qualified scientific specialists. February 13 the two next thesis protections were held.
	MIGRATION: DETHRONEMENT OF THE MYTHS AND FLAGELLATION OF THE PHOBIAS From February 18 to February 22, 2002 scientific and practical seminar "From the East to the East: Migration and Experience of Cooperation between Regions for Strengthening of Ethno-political Stability in Eurasia" was held in Novosibirsk within the framework of the program "East - East" (the "Open society" Institute).

	MEETING WITH A BOOK February 20, presentation of a story by Yu.Ogurtsov "Son of an enemy of nation" has been held in the bookshop "Books" of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok.
	LANDSCAPES BY GENNADI SUTIAGIN Inhabitants of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok are familiar well with the works by Gennadi Nikolaevich Sutiagin. Just another time an exhibition of his works is held in the Winter Garden of the House of Scientists.
	CONCERT AT THE NOVOSIBIRSK PHILARMONIC SOCIETY February 25 a concert dedicated to memory of Cyril and Methodius the Saints, enlighteners of the Slavs was held at the Large hall of the Novosibirsk Philarmonic Society.
