	THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE TOPIC IS METHANE MITIGATION June 19 at the House of Scientists of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok, the Second International Conference "Methane Mitigation" has been opened. It is held under the aegis of the USA Agency of Environmental Protection and of the Siberian Branch of the RAS (the Institute of Coal and Coal Chemistry).

	NOVOSIBIRSK - GENEVA At the present time near Geneva (Switzerland) an accelerating and accumulating complex with colliding proton-proton beams, the Large Hadron Collider, is created by scientists of many countries. By the way, one of the founders of the method of colliding beams is the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the SB RAS. 	YOUNG BIOPHYSICISTS BEING SUPPORTED A permanent scientific establishment for the Shira Lake ecosystem studies has been founded in the middle of 90ths by the Laboratory of Ecosystem Biophysics headed by the director of the Institute of Biophysics of the SB RAS A.Degermenzhi. It has become an original center of joint research activity of young scientists of many laboratories.

Today we want to tell you about one of the employees of the library, on the occasion of his 60th anniversary. Dmitri Mironovich Tsukerblat has received an excellent professional training at the Leningrad Institute of Culture and, ignoring some tempting proposals, has voluntarily left for Siberia. It was the 1966, the time of SPSTL coming-to-be both library and information center.
